IAN Holloway says it is down to Bolton Wanderers if they want to follow up their interest in midfielder Liam Trotter.

The midfielder is a free agent at the end of this season and Dougie Freedman has already made an approach to secure his services.

And Den boss Holloway has hinted Trotter could be on his way if he doesn’t accept the terms of a new deal which remains on the table.

“If we can’t give him something he will sign, I might have to maximise that and move him out,” said the Lions chief.

“Bolton might be interested, we’ve spoken to them and the ball is in their court at the moment.”

But Ollie was reluctant to speculate on who might be coming in to the club after Millwall were linked with the likes of Simeon Jackson and Ed Upson in recent days.

He said: “I never talk about anybody else’s player.

“We’ve been linked will all sorts of people, as our league form hasn’t been too good this season and I might need to make some changes.

“I don't know how these things get out and how stories are made up.

“I’m looking to do a little bit of business if I can, maybe some in, maybe some out as well.

“Whatever we’ve done up until this point hasn’t been good enough.

“I want to develop a strong mentality among our players which they will carry out on to that pitch and I think then the fans will get with us, as our fans are starting to.”

Holloway added: “There are people ringing all the time, so until I actually get in it’s very difficult to know who I might need.

“There could be some changes made.

“Basically at times like this you spin plates and you don't know if any of them are going to still spin or fall off.”
