HAYES Cricket Club has appointed the first female president in its 187-year history after Lyn Murphy was unanimously elected to the position at the recent AGM.
The Canadian first came to Hayes in 1975 with her future husband and her two children have both played for the club.
Lyn and her daughter Lynsey were founder members of the club’s women’s section, which has gone from strength to strength and maintains its place in the Premier South.
She retired from playing several years ago but continued to coach and be involved on the club committee as women's representative, club welfare officer and now as president.
