BROMLEY eased to a comprehensive victory over London Bari at Hayes Lane yesterday evening in the second round of the London Senior Cup.

The visitors, who ply their trade three divisions below the Conference South leaders in the Essex Senior League, were completely outclassed in a one-sided game.

Jay May and Bradley Goldberg both screwed shots wide from similar positions with only the keeper to beat in the opening five minutes before Pierre Joseph-Dubois put the home side ahead on 16 minutes.

Fastening on to a delicate pass from May, the Frenchman coolly chipped advancing visiting keeper Ricardo Braganza.

More chances came Bromley’s way with Goldberg seeing his shot blocked by a defender and then being denied by a first class save from Braganza.

May headed over from the resultant corner, Ben Swallow shot wide from a good position and Braganza saved well from May following Taylor Parmenter’s cross.

Bromley’s dominance finally paid off in the 43rd minute when Joseph-Dubois netted his, and Bromley’s, second of the evening. Breaking down the right, Goldberg’s pull back to Joseph-Dubois was hammered home from just inside the area.

Joseph-Dubois was denied his hat-trick in the 54th minute by a strange decision from the referee. He put the ball high into the net following a goalmouth scramble, but the official then blew his whistle and pointed to the penalty spot after his effort had hit the target. Regardless, Goldberg stepped up to send the custodian the wrong way for 3-0.

Swallow shot over the bar from three yards and youngster Thomas O’Connor’s cross was headed over by Joseph-Dubois as Bromley continued to dominate.

With 18 minutes remaining Elliott Buchanan had Braganza scrambling with his 25 yard shot, while Maxwell Amoako went close with a rare chance for the visitors moments later.

Braganza tipped Buchanan’s rasping shot over, but could do nothing about Bromley’s fourth goal in the 90th minute.

Swallow broke down the left before crossing to the far post where Josh Oyinsan converted from close range.

The Lillywhites will now travel to play the winners of the AFC Wimbledon v Cray Wanderers tie on a date to be arranged.
