A GRAVESEND gymnastics club chalked up some impressive results at both national and international level recently.
Meapa GC duo Marnie Taylor and Eve Hudson enjoyed a fine weekend at a prestigious international competition in Leipzig, Germany.
Against a very strong field, including some of the top gymnasts from Czech Republic, France, Germany and the Ukraine, the girls put in outstanding performances across floor, beam and bars, with Taylor winning gold and Hudson collecting silver.
Closer to home at the national grade finals in Guildford, Amy Spaul, who recently qualified to represent the south-east regional team, gave a strong and consistent exhibition.
Harrison Hoad represented the SE at the national finals in Birmingham.
Hoad, who demonstrated some very difficult skills to a packed audience and only started competing in six-piece gymnastics last year, impressed at his first national event, finishing a very respectable 22nd in the individual competition.
His all-round performance helped the SE team secure the silver medal.
Meapa Head coach Yuriy Zhovtyuk said: βI am so proud all the gymnasts achieved such superb results.
βIt was a worthy reward for all the hard work and effort that they and their coaches put in each week at training.β
