Page shows fellow Dartford Harriers how it’s done

YOUNGSTER Holly Page delivered the performance of the day for Dartford Harriers AC in the latest Kent Cross Country League fixture of the season at Sparrows Den, writes David Stewart.

This was the final meeting of the season for the younger athletes and conditions looked ideal for fast times and good performances.

Page was competing in the U15 girls’ race, where she finished third and was followed home by team-mate and training partner Chloe Sharp, who backed up an impressive run last weekend with a solid ninth position.

Rebecca Burford, Ellie Coleman and Amy Hart also represented Dartford and as a team the Harriers U15 girls finished third on the day and fourth in the final league table.

In the U20 women’s race, Rebecca Wilby ran well to finish in fourth place, while Cassie Benson crossed the line in seventh to secure third place in the individual rankings for the season.

Meanwhile, Claudia Bates and Cary Kwaramba led the in the U13 girls’ team home in identical times, with Camille Cerely and Jasmine Fairman also running well.

Dartford’s U13 girls finished sixth on the day and sixth in the league.

The senior men’s event, which still has one fixture remaining in the new year, had a field of 176 runners.

Dartford Harriers’ team was led home by Sam Coombes, who put in a strong showing to finish fifth.

Coombes was well supported by Daniel Pyne and Chris Biddle, who both made the top 30.
