CRAYFORD Judo Club has seen a successful couple of months with members winning several medals, including three at national level.

At the biggest ever entry for the 10 to 12-year-olds British championships in Kidderminster, the club had three members competing.

Jamil Issifu was the first player to win a national medal with bronze.

Jael Varatharasan was next to put in a medal winning performance to also claim bronze.

Elyas Agounizera fought exceptionally, winning five fights on his way to earning the silver medal.

Meanwhile, Erik Whitaker, Patrick Sykes and Sephora Varatharasan have been selected to represent England at a competition at the end of October in Belgium.

Alex Macasaddu represented the club at the Heart of England in September alongside team-mates Erik Whitaker, who finished seventh, and Sykes, who won four fights on his way to the bronze medal.

Macasaddu claimed silver one week earlier at the northern home counties open, while Sykes beat the current national champion in the final to win gold.

Issifu won bronze at the eastern area open in August, where Sykes won two golds and a bronze.
