ORPINGTON swimmer Luke Gunning is intent on making a splash in the pool after claiming a gold medal at the Sainsbury's 2013 School Games.
The 16-year-old was crowned 200m butterfly champion at Sheffield's Ponds Forge at the weekend, and also picked up 100m butterfly silver.
The Sainsbury's School Games featured more than 1,600 athletes competing in 12 sports across eight venues, and is billed as a mini Olympic Games.
Gunning said: "From last year I missed out on a medal in the 200m so I was hungry to come back and win some medals.
"It is a very good event and I want to come back next year but I can't as this was my last.
"Everyone, if they are athletes, they want to get to the Olympics. I want to set my goals higher, so hopefully I can get a medal at the Olympic Games, you never know."
The Sainsbury's 2013 School Games, which is supported by National Lottery funding from Sport England and delivered by the Youth Sport Trust, was held in venues across Sheffield from 12-15 September 2013.
