Boris Johnson giving away grassroots sport cash
MAYOR Boris Johnson is urging sports clubs to get on the ball and apply for money from his sports facilities fund to improve their facilities.
The mayor has already given away £16m to groups across London and has now committed to invest a further £6m into grassroots sport over the next two years.
Funding is now available for not-for-profit organisations, such as schools, local sports clubs, charities and councils.
Applications can be made for up to £100,000 to cover up to a maximum of 60 per cent of the total project cost.
Expressions of interest need to be made by October 4 and anyone interested can find out more at the Football Foundation website by clicking here.
