STEVE Lomas looks set to become Millwall’s new manager after the Lions were granted permission by St Johnstone to speak with him about the vacancy.
The Ulsterman is now odds-on to replace Kenny Jackett after the Lions made an official approach to the Scottish Premier League side.
Lomas has been in charge of the Perth side since November 2011 and his chairman Steve Brown today confirmed permission has been granted for the former West Ham player to talk with the Lions.
Mr Brown said: “I have been contacted by Millwall FC and following discussions have given them consent to speak to Steve Lomas.
“Steve is an ambitious and talented manager and I’m disappointed but not surprised that his progress has been monitored by other clubs.
“As with our previous two managers, we will not stand in the way of Steve if he agrees to join Millwall.”
Lomas is now expected to be named as Jackett’s successor by the end of the week once he agrees terms with the Championship side.
