CHARLTON boss Chris Powell has urged supporters not to worry about the long-term future of star youngster Callum Harriott as his current deal enters its final year.

The wide-man has impressed with a string of fine performances since breaking back into the first team earlier this season.

But Powell, who gave Harriott his senior debut in May 2011, insists he is fully confident the youngster will remain in SE7 for many years to come.

The manager said: “I think people are thinking that we are going to let his contract run out and not doing anything about it.

“He’s going to be here for quite a while, Callum Harriott.

“Unless a club gives us something that we couldn’t turn down, he will be here experiencing the first-team and in the group.

“He is going to have his ups and downs like any player, but he is going to be here for quite a while.

“So to all of our fans out there, don’t worry Callum Harriott is going to be a player for us for quite a while.”
