TWO goals from Joe Pigott and an Adebayo Azeez strike saw Charlton’s U21s defeat Millwall 3-1 to follow in the footsteps of the U18s to win the Professional Development League Two South title on Monday.

The Addicks needed to win to lift the inaugural league title and a side which included back-from-injury Dale Stephens and Danny Haynes - who missed a penalty - emerged triumphant at Sparrows Lane on Monday.

The U21s now wait to see who they will face at home in the semi-finals when they play the runner-up in the northern league.

JONATHAN Obika scored his second late goal in successive home games to ensure Charlton will again play Championship football next season.

Obika echoed his feat against Leeds United earlier this month to strike late against Wolverhampton Wanderers and earn a 2-1 victory.

The result means Chris Powell’s men still retain an outside chance of qualifying for the play-offs with two fixtures remaining.

FANS can cement their place in Charlton’s history and become part of the stadium itself by purchasing a granite stone as part of a new landmark at The Valley called Addicks Place.

The stones, which will be sited in front of the west-stand reception, can be personalised with a name or message and supporters can choose from a range of sizes via addicksplace.co.uk

WITH Championship football again secured for Charlton in 2013/14, season tickets at The Valley start from just £335 adults, £125 all U18s and £50 all U11s, with savings of up to £134 on buying match-by-match.

A season ticket also offers a range of benefits, including two free matchday tickets for friends and family.

CHARLTON’S players warmed up wearing Demelza Care for Children T-shirts to support the club’s favoured charity at Saturday’s match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Volunteers from the charity, which cares for children with life-limiting conditions and their families, collected donations around the ground before kick-off.

Demelza will also benefit from an annual charity match between local side Kingsdale and Charlton Veterans on May 5 at Dartford’s Princes Park (2pm).

Admission to the day, which begins at 10am, is £3 adults and £1 juniors and seniors.

GOALS from Sinead Boyer and Gemma Shepherd gave the Charlton women’s team a 2-0 victory against Barnet on Sunday and saw the Addicks go level on points with fifth-placed Manchester City in the Premier League, National Division.

Charlton are next in action away at Watford on Sunday.

A £2,500 prize will be available at the final game of the season against Bristol City on May 4 courtesy of Valley Gold and there is no better time to sign up to the scheme that supports the club’s youth academy.

More information on Valley Gold, which costs £2.31 per week, is available on 020-8244 7771 or via valleygold@cafc.co.uk
