O'Reilly continues gymnastics success

ELTHAM gymnast Ellis O’Reilly has been as busy as ever.

The Beaverwood School for Girls pupil took part at her first contest as a second year junior in 2013 at the Miss Alpha Factor Jewel of the south competition at Pipers Vale Gymnastics Club in Ipswich.

O’Reilly started on the floor, scoring 12.45 to finish second on this piece.

She then moved to vault and scored 13.40 out of a possible 14.40 to place first, as well as receiving an award for having the lowest deductions taken.

Next was the bars, where a score of 11.10 took second.

She then performed a well-executed routine but did take a fall on her acrobatic series.

Despite this fall and no dismount, O’Reilly scored 10.90 and finished thirdon this piece.

She was crowned Miss Alpha Factor Jewel of the south junior FIG champion with a score of 47.900.

Two weeks later, O’Reilly competed at the first of her major competitions for 2013, the English Championships at home club, the Europa Centre in Crayford, where she took pronze on the vault.
