Athletes make experience count at indoor championships

THERE were medal returns from Dartford Harriers athletes competing at the British national masters indoor championships last weekend.
Christine Clements placed equal second in the W55 high jump with a jump of 1.24m.
Teresa Eades competed in the W50 pole vault, high jump and triple jump, winning the pole vault with an effort of 2.20m.
She also came second in the high jump with 1.27m metres and third in the triple jump with 8.46m.
In the men's events, M75 competitor Arthur Kimber ran in the 400m (84.11 s) and 800m (3m20.26s), picking up silver in each.
Chris Reed took part in the M60 800m event, coming fifth with a time of 2m47.83s.
Meanwhile, three Harriers athletes were selected to compete for Kent last weekend at the inter-counties UK cross country championships.
Callum Ward came 89th in the U15 boys’ race with a time of 17m32s.
Rebecca Wilby was 120th in the U20 women's event (26m21s), while Holly Page placed 13th in the U13 girls’ contest in 11m53s to help secure Kent the silver team medal.
