YOUNGSTERS from Dartford Judo Club bagged a hat-trick of medals at the British championships in Sheffield.

Georgia Howard dominated her group in the year six and seven -32kgs category, with a masterful display of turnovers and holds gaining a spot in the final.

Although the final proved more challenging than anything which had gone on before, Howard was still easily the more dominant and won gold to become the British schools champion.

Elyas Agounizera also reached the final of the year six and seven 46kgs contest after putting in a powerful seoi nage shoulder throw to get the ippon in the semi-final.

Agounizera could not manage to repeat his earlier wins against his older and more experienced opponent in the final, but the silver secured medal number two for Dartford JC.

Rose Johnston won her first three fights in the year six and seven -57kgs by ippon, having held each opponent down for the required 20 seconds for the win.

Despite not reaching the final, she fought well to clinch bronze.

Alex Macasaddu, Chris Ball, Jamil Issifu and Ben Webb also represented Dartford at the competition but were unable to make the podiums despite gallant efforts.
