Rebels regain top spot

After a brief stint in second place of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance Division Two Rileys Rebels have risen back to the top with a healthy 13-2 victory over bottom side Crown.
The match never really looked in any doubt as Declan Kelly, Louis Wilbourne and captain Trevor Biggs all recorded three frame wins each.
This win puts them eight points clear of Summerfield with a game in hand and with only three matches to go they are firmly in the driving seat for the title.
North Heath Social Club cemented their third position with a 10-5 win over Life of Rileys although the five points made Life of Rileys the fifth team in the division to reach one hundred points.
Beech Tree Nuthouse are within four points of a play off place in SLKPA Division One after a 13-2 victory over Bellegrove Social Club B.
Bellegrove had a tough task from the start when they arrived with only four players and the Nuthouse took full advantage of this by winning the first ten frames.
Craig Jones, Dave Sparey and Dave Robinson all won all three of their frames with Julie Lancaster winning her only frame.
The winners for Bellegrove were Tony Hodson and Terry Mitchell.
Glenmore Arms II also had only four players and served slightly better with an 11-4 loss against New Eltham Social Club.
New Eltham won the first two sets 4-1 and the final set 3-2 to complete the rout with Jim Woodbridge and Chris Unwin winning both their frames.
Glenmore II remain bottom of the division six points behind Fox under the Hill B who were also beaten 11-4 by Glenmore Arms A team.
Glenmore A were in control from the start winning the first set 4-1 and the second 3-2 before taking the final set 4-1 again.
It was a great all round team performance with Paul Thomas, Alex Thompson, Alan Enever, Alan Rothwell and James Grant all winning both of their frames but Fox relied heavily on Kerry Wyatt who scored three of her team’s four frames on the night.
Glenmore A are now twenty one points ahead at the top although their nearest rivals Rileys Rovers do have a game in hand but with three games to go it is unlikely they will catch them.
In the SLKPA Premier Division Pickwick squeezed in front of Rileys Hotshots into second place with a 10-5 victory over Bellegrove Social Club A but Hotshots do have a game in hand.
Martin Storey was the man of the match with three out of three but Paul Dawson also deserves some credit after he also achieved a three out of three including a great long double on the black in frame thirteen.
O’Connors opened up a twenty one point gap over Foots Cray Social Club at the bottom after beating them 11-4 so it looks as though Foots Cray will be contesting the play off.
