KENNY Jackett insists he will not be encouraging Charlton to make a fresh bid to sign Dany N’Guessan.

The Addicks were keen to bring the French attacker back to The Valley on transfer deadline day for a second loan spell, although the move failed to happen because Swindon were blocked by the Football League from signing Bradley Wright-Phillips and Danny Green.

But with Wright-Phillips now off the wage bill in SE7 having joined Brentford on loan earlier this week, Charlton may now have more room for manoeuvre with their budget to try again for N’Guessan.

However, it looks like they may well get short shrift from Millwall manager Jackett should they try to do so.

He said: “There hasn’t been any recent contact about Dany.

“There was an enquiry made about a month ago and that is all it was.

“I’m not looking for him to go.

“He is part of the group and it is not a situation that I would be encouraging.”
