The top two teams in South London & Kent Pool Alliance Division One played each other this week with only seven points separating Glenmore Arms A in first and Rileys Rovers in second, which was extended to ten points after a 9-6 victory for the leaders.
They got off to a flying start taking the first set 4-1 with Ryan Francis the one for Rovers winning the first of his three frames.
Rovers pulled it back to 4-3 but Glenmore's unbeaten players on the night, Pankaj Chilkoti (3/3), Alex Thompson (2/2) and Paul Thomas (2/2) won the next four frames to secure the win.
Rovers went on to win the final set 3-2 to make the score a more respectable 9-6 with Martyn Wallace winning the final frame on his return to the team.
With just three league games to go it looks as if it will be a Glenmore A and Rovers one and two.
Miro Cujic's three out of three for New Eltham Social Club couldn't save them from an unexpected defeat to Bellegrove Social Club B.
A poor table at Fox under the Hill B gave service to a poor game against Beech Tree Nuthouse where there were no real clearances and a hard fought match.
Each set was won by the same 3-2 score line with the Nuthouse taking the first and third set and the Foxes the second making the overall score 8-7 to the Nuthouse.
Earnest Chin picked up a rare frame win for the Foxes but Julie Lancaster recorded three out of three for the Beech Tree for the second time this season.
In SLKPA Division Two Summerfield closed the gap on Rileys Rebels at the top to just four points after an 8-7 victory over North Heath Social Club who stay in third.
Pickwick Academicals are only five points behind North Heath with their 10-5 win over Life of Rileys.
Billy Levingbird had a great game winning all three of his frames with Rob Snooks just behind him on two out of two.
Crown were given their fourth win of the season as Fanny on the Hill could not field a team.
O'Connors threw the SLKPA Premiership wide open again with their 8-7 victory over leaders Rileys Woolwich.
Rileys now hold a ten point lead over Rileys Hotshots who also have a game in hand.
Hotshots improved their chances of making the game in hand count with a 10-5 win over bottom team Foots Cray Social Club.
The game was still in the balance at the end of the second set with the score at five all but Hotshots turned on the style in the final set winning all five frames to win the match.
Steve Krishnan and Andre Cox were instrumental in the win, both recording three out of three on the night.
