MIDFIELDER Ruben Bover Izquierdo has joined the New York Red Bulls after being released by Charlton.

The Spanish winger made two appearances for the club after signing in summer 2011 and will link up with former Addicks winger Lloyd Sam and the likes of Thierry Henry.

ANDY Hughes put on a Charlton shirt for the first time in more than nine months last Tuesday as a reserve friendly against Millwall ended 0-0 at Sparrows Lane.

Hughes has been hampered by an Achilles injury that required two operations.

AFTER a 5am start in order to get to south Wales for Saturday’s match against Swansea City, goals from Karlan Ahearne-Grant and Harry Gerard gave Charlton’s U18s a 2-1 victory.
