A BEXLEYHEATH fencer has won the U20 title at the national sabre championship, despite being aged just 15.
Blackfen School for Girls student Laura Gladdishdefeated rivals who were up to four years older than her at Medway Park Sports Centre in Gillingham.
But there was less to celebrate for fellow Malling MX fencing Club member Niall Dowse, a pupil at Bullers Wood, had to withdraw from the men’s competition with an ankle injury.
