BLACKPOOL loan striker Nathan Delfouneso condemned Millwall to a fourth straight defeat with an injury time winner at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.

Winger James Henry had opened the scoring for the Lions with a superb strike direct from a corner after 32 minutes.

Thomas Ince equalised for the Tangerines in the 61st minute against the run of play after finding acres of space and drilling a low shot into the corner corner of the net beyond David Forde.

The Lions looked to be heading for a point until substitute Delfouneso fired home a 90th minute goal to consign Millwall to a fourth straight league defeat, their worst run since September 2007.

Manager Kenny Jackett said: “I’m very frustrated and disappointed with both of the goals.

“Over the period of 10 games we have given away too many goals and not enough clean sheets.

“Zeros and ones against are what earn you points and we have given away two goals today again.

“On any one occasion you can defensively concede, sides can have two shots and score two goals.

“Over a period of time, every game we haven’t had zeros.

“We haven’t had zeros enough.”

Jackett also refused to use the poor state of the Bloomfield Road playing surface as an excuse for Millwall’s defeat.

He added: “The pitch gets a lot of press but we knew what it would be like before the game so we could use that as an excuse it’s the same for both teams.

“Back passes, for instance, have to go wide of the goal and you have to follow them up.

“You have to do the basics on a poor pitch and make sure you don't get caught in and around your own box.

“We adapted OK to those sort of things and I wouldn’t use the pitch or put it down as an excuse.

“It hurts, it hurts the players and hurts myself as a manager.

“In this period we have lost four on a spin.

“Whatever the ins and outs and details of the game, there’s a line there and it’s winning or losing and we have lost those games.

“We have had a successful period cup wise, as we have beaten Preston and Aston Villa in that time, in the FA Cup and that (competition) happens to be our next game against Luton.

“The league form is frustrating and there is a line there and it’s a black and white situation.

“We have been losing and we have to do something about it.”

The Lions started up front with new loan signing Benik Afobe, who arrived at The Den on loan from Arsenal on Friday, and QPR’s Robert Hulse.

Jackett said: “I felt going forward we had more clear cut chances than we have had for a while without necessarily putting them away.

“We hit the bar twice and hit the post and the keeper made a good save from Robert Hulse.

“The two new lads starting for us were a handful and did bring a little bit to the team.

“We are looking forward to the next week and the next run of games, it comes with Luton and then Peterborough pretty soon after on Tuesday night.

“The games cannot come quick enough to be able to put this frustrating run to one side.”
