Third played second in the South London & Kent Pool Alliance Premier Division as Rileys Hotshots faced Pickwick with the away side holding onto second spot after an 8-7 victory.
There was some good pool being played but somehow Paul Gafa was the only player to come away unbeaten on the night, winning all three of his frames.
Pickwick are now seven points behind league leaders Rileys Woolwich with Hotshots only six points behind them with a game in hand so it’s still all to play for at the top.
At the other end of the table both Bellegrove Social Club A and O’Connors pulled away from Foots Cray Social Club at the bottom as they played out a hard fought game which also finished 8-7, in O’Connors favour.
O’Connors are now eleven points clear of Foots Cray with Bellegrove ten ahead of them.
The third whitewash of the season happened in SLKPA Division Two with North Heath Social Club recording the 15-0 victory over Crown.
Playing with three players didn’t really help their cause but North Heath were in fine form.
Crown stay firmly rooted to the bottom, thirteen points adrift whereas North Heath retake third place.
Edward Green’s three out three for Life of Rileys wasn’t enough as second place Summerfield won by 10 frames to 5.
Rileys Rebels stay top after a 9-6 win over Pickwick Academicals but they didn’t have it all their own way.
The damage was done in the first two sets with Rebels taking them both 4-1 but the Ackies reversed the set score in the third set to make the final score more respectable.
Declan Kelly broke and dished in the first set and then dispatched Dean Williams by clearing up after his dry break but it was the youngster Billy Levingbird who spoiled Kelly’s unbeaten night with a dogged frame and tidy clearance.
Paul Doherty and Trevor Biggs helped to seal Rebels victory with three out of three and two out of two respectively.
Glenmore Arms A extend their lead at the top of SLKPA’s first division to seven points after a 10-5 win over Beech Tree Nuthouse.
The Nuthouse had a great start winning the first set 3-2 but Glenmore turned on the style to win the next two sets 4-1.
Alex Thompson and Barry Barham did most of the damage for Glenmore both winning all three of their frames.
New Eltham Social Club managed to close the gap on Beech Tree to just two points with a 10-5 victory over Fox under the Hill B.
New Eltham were in the driving seat right from the off, winning the first set 4-1 then the next two 3-2 with Miro Cujic winning in each set although he was rather fortunate in two of his frames and Chris Unwin was also unbeaten with his solitary frame win.
Clive Forrest won two of Fox’s frames and Les Ryan chalked up his first frame of the season.
Rileys Rovers thought it was going to be a formality as they went 2-0 up against Glenmore Arms II but Glenmore went on to win all the next three frames with in offs before Shane Burnett made it 4-2 with an excellent clearance after a dry break.
Rovers brought it back to 4-4 but by the end of the second set Glenmore had restored their two frame advantage.
The next two frames were shared but Rovers won the next two to set up a final frame decider which Glenmore captain Jason Brunton pulled out of the bag for his third frame of the night and the match winner with the final score 8-7.
