CHARLTON boss Chris Powell has again reiterated his admiration for Millwall attacker Dany N’Guessan, but admitted there is no imminent deal in place to bring him back to The Valley.

N’Guessan, who was on loan in SE7 last season, was linked with a deadline day return to Charlton., a move which didn't happen after Bradley Wright-Phillips and Danny Green were both blocked from joining Swindon Town.

But even though the loan window is poised to reopen, the Frenchman is unlikely to link up with Powell again until the Charlton manager can get some of his own players off of the wage bill by sending them out on loan.

“Everyone knows I like Dany,” said Powell.

“Dany did very well for us.

“He’s been in an out of Millwall’s squad.

“It looks like he is going to go out, but then he gets back in, then he scores for them, so who knows?

“At the moment nothing is happening there and we’ll have to wait and see.

“As I have been saying for a number of weeks, it will be very slow for us, I’m not going to hide from that fact.

“It will be maybe one or two going out first, then that might allow me to do something.

“If not, then as I have always done, I will use the players here.

“I trust them so I will prepare them and look for them to go out and do their best to get results for us, but there is nothing imminent with regards to us bringing someone in.”

On whether any players are likely to be departing The Valley soon, Powell added: “No, there were last week.

“I think everyone knows that, but that is something Swindon Town have to deal with whether that gets resurrected again.”
