Beech Tree Nuthouse of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance Division One arrived for their match with New Eltham Social Club a player short, with three men and a lady and still ran out winners by 8 frames to 7.
I say three men but one of those was 16-year-old Shane O’Reilly who was excellent in winning all three of his frames.
It looked like New Eltham were going to take it when they won the first set 3-2 but the Nuthouse tied the match at the end of the second set 5-5.
The next four frames were shared to force the decider which Beech Tree captain Craig Jones won for his second of the night to win the match.
This win keeps Beech Tree seven points clear of their opponents in third place.
The two Glenmore Arms teams faced each other this week with the A team triumphing 10-5 to go four points clear at the top of the table and leave Glenmore Arms II floundering at the bottom.
Pankaj Chilkoti and James Grant were unbeaten winning three frames and two frames respectively and Alex Thompson seven balled Dan Brown in his first frame.
Second placed Rileys Rovers were just too strong for Bellegrove Social Club B in their 9-6 victory.
Rovers took the first set 4-1 then Ryan Francis cleared up after a dry break and Lee Osborn won his second frame to make it 6-1 before Stephen Marsters and Martin Hession, winning his solitary frame pulled it back to 6-3.
Darren Porter won his second and third of the night to get Rovers over the line then they appeared to take their foot off the gas as they only won one of the last four frames making the final score 9-6.
Rileys Woolwich stay top of the SLKPA Premier Division with a 10-5 win over Bellegrove Social Club A.
Bellegrove started well taking a 2-0 lead but Rileys hit back winning the next seven frames making it difficult for them to get back into the game.
Clive Black won both of his frames for Rileys but Tony Halpin went one better winning all three of his.
Pickwick move into second place with their 11-4 victory over Foots Cray Social Club.
It was a night of many mistakes although Dean James found some form to win his three frames for Pickwick.
Summerfield move a point closer to SLKPA Division Two leaders Rileys Rebels after their 10-5 triumph over Pickwick Academicals as Rebels only managed a 9-6 win against Fanny on the Hill.
The last team to beat Rebels were a full strength Fanny side but this week they only arrived with four players but still managed to push them all the way.
Rebels won the first set 3-2 and by the end of the second set they were 7-3 up, then Declan Kelly and youngster Alex Biggs both went in off on the black to make the score 7-5.
Rebels stumbled over the winning line with their forfeit frame before captain Trevor Biggs made it 9-6 with his third frame win.
Life of Rileys had their biggest win of the season with a 10-5 victory over bottom side Crown.
Steven Adams was man of the match with three wins out of three.
This win puts Life of Rileys sixteen points ahead of their opponents at the bottom.
