At the start of the evening Riley's Rovers were five points behind South London & Kent Pool Alliance Division One leaders Glenmore Arms A but with an impressive 11-4 victory over Fox under the Hill B they closed the gap to three points.
It was a great all round team performance as they won the first set 3-2 then the next two sets by 4 frames to 1.
Ryan Francis and Darren Porter continued their amazing form to record three frame wins out of three with Lee Osborn and Kevin England backing them up with two out of three.
Despite Rovers catching them up Glenmore Arms A notched up their tenth win of the season by beating New Eltham Social Club 9-6.
New Eltham started well taking an early 2-1 lead but Glenmore won the next five frames to open up a 6-2 advantage which became 7-3 at the end of the second set.
Inspired by Miro Cujic's three out of three which included a '7-baller', New Eltham went on to win the final set 3-2 to make the final score 9-6.
Barry Barham won all three of his frames for Glenmore and Mark Carrano was also unbeaten winning his only frame.
Glenmore's other team Glenmore Arms II stay rooted to the foot of the table after an 11-4 defeat to Bellegrove Social Club B.
In the SLKPA Premier Division bottom team Foots Cray Social Club stunned Bellegrove Social Club A by winning a close game 8-7.
They had an excellent start winning the first set 4-1 with Danny Foley being the one for Bellegrove and he went on to win in each of the next two sets as well, as Bellegrove did their utmost to turn it around by taking the next two sets 3-2 but it just wasn't enough.
Foots Cray’s Scott Shephard put in a captain’s performance to win both his frames including the one that won the game for them but Kevin Smith went one better with three out of three, one of which was a break and dish.
There was another close match at O’Connors where Rileys Hotshots were the visitors and every frame could have gone either way.
O’Connors took an early 2-0 lead but Hotshots tied the match before the home side eventually took the set 3-2.
Hotshots won the next set 4-1 to give them a 6-4 lead and despite losing the final set 3-2 they went on to win the match 8 frames to 7.
Man of the match was Hotshots Robbie Robb, so good they named him twice, who won all of his three frames one of which was a break and dish.
First played third in Division Two where Rileys Rebels hosted North Heath Social Club in a match that included half of the top fifteen ranked players in the division.
In the second frame North Heath’s Kevin Nankoo cleared from his first visit against high flyer Louis Wilbourne, who has only lost three frames all season and the away side went on to take the first set 3-2.
Wilbourne got even in the second set and when Ian Stringer potted both black and white in the same shot Rebels capitalised and won the second set 4-1 to put them 6-4 up overall.
Stringer made amends in the first frame of the third set by producing a fine clearance to bring North Heath to within a frame but Rebels battled hard and with a decent rub of the green won the last four frames to win the match 10-5.
The score line doesn’t really reflect the closeness of the game as it was a tough match and one of those nights for the away side where everything went against them or so it seemed.
Summerfield stay fourteen points behind Rebels in second by matching their 10-5 win against Crown, who stay bottom of the table.
Pickwick Academicals become the fourth team in the division to break the hundred point barrier with an 8-7 victory over Fanny on the Hill.
Chris Bracey had a great night with an excellent three out of three for the Academicals.
