EAGLES blogger SAM ROSS is starting to lose patience with all the Wilfried Zaha rumours and this week demands the player’s future is resolved as soon as possible.

WE are well into the January transfer window and it is still unknown whether Wilfried Zaha will be a Crystal Palace player until the end of the season or not.

It has to be sorted soon. It is clear Wilf feels he is ready to make the step up and has felt so for a while now, but his performances haven’t been the same since his England call up and all the hype surrounding his ability.

There has been so much media attention since Roy Hodgson announced him in the senior England set-up.

But the majority of the press haven’t seen him at his best yet and still describe him as ‘dazzling’ and ‘star of the show’.

He certainly wasn’t the star of the show on Saturday against Bolton like most media outlets claimed.

Tyrone Mears had him well under control in the first half and it wasn’t until Zaha switched flanks to the right in the second that he took advantage of Marcus Alonso’s poor defensive work with some tidy footwork.

There is no doubt Zaha is destined for the Premier League but at the moment all the attention about where he will be playing in the next few months is affecting his game and Palace’s promotion challenge.

Holloway is certainly doing his best to make it clear how highly he is thought of at Palace to try and get as much money as possible for Zaha - and rightly so.

He is a Palace prodigy and the Eagles deserve all the money they can get for him.

The best reported deal in the press appears to be the £12m offered by Manchester United with Zaha being loaned back until the end of the season.

The option of having Zaha until May would suit many Palace fans but what is the point in having a player wearing the red and blue if his mind his elsewhere?

If you are a player joining Manchester United, surely you want to be competing for a place, especially when they are challenging for the Premier League title, Champions League and FA Cup.

As for who Palace have bought in already, Alex Nimely didn’t produce a great deal on Saturday but it is far too early too judge, as it is also for Jacob Butterfield, but as an apparent set piece expert he wasn’t all that impressive.

The rumour about DJ Campbell is encouraging (I believe Hull are favourites to land Campbell now - sports ed) and he would certainly offer something different to Glenn Murray up front if things aren’t quite going his way, like they were on Saturday.

More important than getting players in, though, is keeping the core at Palace and it seems they are doing that well bar a horrible and laughable rumour about Mile Jedinak going to Bolton for £1.5m.

I hope by the end of the week the saga surrounding Zaha’s future has been dealt with whether he is a Palace player or not so he and the club can move forward.
