TRIES from Andy Botten, Jo Blair, Luke Davey and Mike Watkins ensured Beccehamians won their sixth game on the trot against Shooters Hill on Saturday.

The result maintains Beccs’ unbeaten home record and the club still remain the top points scoring team in the league.

Shooters Hill’s were first to strike with a fifth minute Edmar Vinluan penalty five minutes, but Beccs struck straight back with a try following some quick hands to put Watkins over the whitewash.

Ten minutes later the home side were on the scoreboard again when their forwards stormed over the line with Botten claiming the honours.

Shoots kept in touch with a further Vinluan penalty.

Not wanting to be outdone by the forwards, Beccs’ wingers scored a try apiece after the break.

The first saw Joe Garland field a poor clearance kick, carry up to the defence and hit a perfectly weighted chip over.

Davey outstripped the defence and touched down, an effort duly converted by Alex Warsop.

Callum Murray made a searing break to feed Blair in close support, the winger then sprinted over from 40 yards out to secure the bonus point.

Another penalty by Warsop put the game out of reach, although Shooters Hill managed to run in two further unconverted tries from Peter Evans and Oliver Wright to close the deficit.
