KENNY Jackett has yet to discuss extending Adam Smith’s loan spell from Tottenham despite the current deal running out on January 25.
The 21-year-old joined the Lions for three months in November and was allowed by the Premier League side to play for Millwall in the FA Cup against Preston last weekend.
Jackett has made no secret of the fact he would like to keep hold of the highly-rated defender but could face competition from Aston Villa and QPR after the Premier League strugglers were both linked with the Spurs youngster.
When asked this morning if had asked Tottenham for an extension, the Millwall boss replied: “At the moment, no.
“I have spoken to them but only on a football basis.
“We’ve been very pleased with him but at present there have been no discussions about extending the loan yet.
“We like Adam and have been very pleased with him since he has been in our team and are positive towards the future with him.”
Jackett also revealed he is no closer to signing a new striker after losing out on Chris Wood to Leicester.
“There is nothing in the pipeline as we’ve been concentrating on the Martyn Woolford deal,” he added.
