DANNY Hollands’ immediate future looks set to be decided before this weekend once his initial loan stay with Swindon comes to an end.

The midfielder hooked up with Paolo Di Canio’s League One promotion hopefuls in November and has scored in their last two games.

But the current deal expires on Saturday and Powell is keen to have the situation resolved quickly, with a further loan extension seemingly the most likely outcome.

When asked if Hollands still had a long-term future at The Valley, Powell replied: “He has but I’m going to have to speak to him and his representative and see where we go from Saturday because he has been out, he wanted to go out so I let him go out and obviously he has done OK.

“Then it is a question of do I want him back here?

“Does he want to come back? Does he want to stay?

“We’ve got to do what is right for everyone.

“I’m in discussions with Swindon and with him and his agent to see where we go.

“Swindon haven’t said much yet.

“We’ve obviously made contact knowing that the deal is up on Saturday and now it is about what happens in the next 48 hours.

“I would like it resolved before Saturday so everyone is happy with what is going to happen from Monday onwards.”
