SATURDAY’S coach trip left Shooters Hill slow to get off the blocks as they went down to defeat at Hastings & Bexhill.
The hosts' backs ran in a try after dominating the first 15 minutes but Shoots came back with a try by scrum half Harry Barham converted by Gareth Cross and a penalty by Cross to make it 10-10 at the interval.
Shoots had some bad luck but Hastings played well to add further to their score.
The result means Shoots cling onto seventh place and ahead of this weekend’s meeting with second-placed Dartfordians at Mayday Gardens.
