A LEWISHAM tennis player is continuing to climb up the world junior tennis rankings after some impressive recent results.

Abban is originally from Ghana but moved to Lewisham recently and has now risen into the top 800 in the world junior rankings.
He said: “My aim is to become the first west African tennis player to be in the world top 50.
“I have played in many tournaments in west, east and southern Africa.
“I am also working hard to make my way into the National Davis Cup team as the second youngest player in the history of the Ghana Golden Racket team.
“At the moment I am working very hard with my coach Mr Tanagidah to start a pro-circuit tournament in Glasgow on February 25.”
