KENNY Jackett says Mark Beevers’ impressive displays since arriving on loan at The Den made the defender’s permanent signing today a no-brainer.

Beevers has agreed a three-and-a-half-year contract to make the switch from Hillsborough to The Den full-time, a deal which will be officially completed once the transfer window opens again on January 1.

Millwall have certainly improved since Beevers came in, remaining unbeaten in 13 games and sitting just outside the play-off places.

And Jackett told News Shopper the 23-year-old possessed all the right defensive attributes to become a key player in the club’s future.

The Lions manager said: “He is very consistent and his consistency has been a key in a position where as well as good players you need solid and reliable people.

“In goal and in the centre back positions you need solid and experienced players who make good decisions.

“Mark Beevers is certainly someone who fits that bill.”
