KENNY Jackett will take a careful look at Adam Smith during his loan spell at The Den before deciding whether to make a permanent move for the Spurs defender.

The 21-year-old right-back joined the Lions today on an initial three-month loan contract and could go straight in to the side at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

But Jackett is already thinking about the possibility of making the move permanent if the youngster impresses during his stay south of the river.

The Millwall manager told News Shopper: “I think Adam Smith is a very good young full-back and to bring him in in the run up to the transfer window gives us a good look at him as well because I think he has a good future.

“He can’t quite get in at Spurs, which is a very high standard of course, and I think Millwall as a club can capitalise.”
