Addicks in form ahead of Millwall derby

Sinead Boyer celebrates after scoring against Haringey Borough
CHARLTON women are under no illusions their derby against Millwall Lionesses in the FA Women’s Premier League Cup this weekend will be a tough task, despite their impressive current form.
A 12-0 London Cup victory against Haringey Borough extended the Addicks’ winning run to four games, with 25 goals scored in that time.
Gemma Shepherd (5), Kim Dixson (2), Gemma Bryan (2), Kit Graham (2) and Sinead Boyer were all on target in the Haringey rout, but Sunday’s trip to Beckenham Town’s Eden Park Avenue ground to face Millwall (2pm) will prove to be a tougher examination for Charlton.
The Lionesses sit in second position in the table having won five of their opening six league games.
Charlton’s caretaker manager Bill Long is hoping any friendships the players have with their counterparts will go out of the window on Sunday.
He said: “It’s a good game because the Millwall and Charlton girls all know each other but, as far as I’m concerned, we are playing Millwall, it’s not about individual players or characters.
“It’s a derby and I want to win.
“We’ll shake hands and smile because we all know each other, but through 90 minutes we have to beat them, compete with them and do everything better than them.
“Millwall are a decent side, we know they have some good players and they should be confident because they are doing well. We have to knuckle down and make sure that we’re on our game.”
