Millwall 4-0 Huddersfield

LOAN striker Chris Wood scored two goals as Millwall romped to a 4-0 win against Huddersfield at The Den to extend their unbeaten run to six games.
The West Brom forward found the back of the net either side of half-time and set up James Henry for the third goal on a cold afternoon in south London.
Liam Trotter completed the scoring in the 89th minute to lift the Lions to 15th place in the Championship table.
The home side made one change from their midweek draw against Birmingham as Henry, who missed the last two matches due to injury, replaced Liam Feeney.
But it was the visitors who had the first chance when Daniel Ward found Lee Novak with a cross but the striker fired over from six yards in the second minute.
Millwall were limited to long shots in the first 20 minutes with Trotter and Wood both missing the target from distance.
But the breakthrough came in the 28th minute for the home side as Trotter found Darius Henderson down the left, who then fired in a low cross towards strike partner Wood at the near post.
It was a beautiful ball from Henderson which left the New Zealander with a simple finish from six yards out.
Huddersfield had some good opportunities to draw level before half-time but failed to test David Forde in the Millwall goal.
Keith Southern was found by Jermaine Beckford with a header but he blazed over from eight yards when he should have hit the target in the 32nd minute.
It was then Beckford’s turn to be wasteful in the 38th minute as he hit the side netting from six yards having left Alan Dunne for dead.
The visitors then started the second half well and put Millwall under some heavy pressure.
But the Terriers were unable to create any clear opportunities and were hit on the counter attack by the home side, who doubled their lead in the 61st minute.
Huddersfield overcommitted and Henry led the counter for the Lions, taking the ball all the way to the edge of the visitors’ penalty area.
The winger then played in Wood who finished with an exquisite chip over Alex Smithies into the far corner to the delight of the home fans.
It took Wood’s tally to four goals in two matches after his brace against Birmingham on Tuesday.
Henry then got himself on the score-sheet as Wood turned provider in the 80th minute.
The loan signing ran onto the ball 25 yards and passed it square to Henry, who smashed it into the far corner.
Henderson then nearly found the net in the 85th minute as he brushed off Jack Hunt’s challenge and rounded Smithies but his shot rolled agonisingly wide of the far post.
But Millwall got their fourth goal a few minutes later as Trotter curled the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the area to seal an emphatic win.
