YOUNGSTERS hit the court to shoot some hoops with a professional basketball player.
Around 18 young people aged 10 to 18 got a training session with James Noel who plays for Plymouth Rovers.
The young players have been coming along to basketball each Friday for almost a year at The Priory Leisure Centre in Tintagel Road, Orpington.
It’s run by community project MyFuture which aims to give youngsters something to do and keep them off the streets.
Project organiser Keith Sykes said: “It started with four young people wanting to do basketball, so we arranged some sessions and got a coach. That was a year ago.
“Now there are about 100 on the register.”
Those who want to do more serious training also go for sessions at Darrick Wood sports centre in Lovibonds Avenue, Orpington on Tuesdays.
