Three Watford mums have won a national award for their innovative business by going where so many others have failed and impressing a real-life “dragon”.
Watford-based business, Netmums, an Essence of the Entrepreneur award, organised by BT Business, in which 20 UK winners were picked from hundreds of entries.
The winners were those judged to be the most inspiring entrepreneurs and those who had used technology in particular to help them succeed.
Netmums, which is the brainchild of Siobhan Freegard, Sally Russell and Cathy Court,Iwon after impressing a judging panel, including Dragons' Den star, Peter Jones.
The business, which was formed in 2002, is a free on-line and localised community for parents and families to meet and exchange information.
The site currently has half a million members and over 1 million visits a month.
