YOUNGSTERS were visited by a former international player at a tournament marking the end of 30 weeks of football sessions.
Around 35 young people aged 10 to 16 took part in the five-a-side indoor competition at Castlecombe Youth Club, Castlecombe Road, Mottingham.
Ex-Chelsea and Charlton player Paul Elliott MBE came down to visit and talk about his experiences.
He also handed out free tickets to all taking part to see Charlton play at home against Nottingham Forrest later this month, as a reward for attending the sessions.
Paul Elliott MBE said “I can relate to a lot of these young people. "You only have to look at the players here today and see that football has this unbelievable power to raise self-esteem, health and make a positive change for these children.”
The scheme was organised by the Bromley MyFuture project and Bromley Youth Service.
