I agree with the comments made in Darren Johnson's letter about the National Minimum Wage not being enough to live off in London.
During my working life in the London area I received London weighting to off set the higher cost of living. Once I retired the State Pension was not enhanced to cover the extra costs of living in the capital because I was no longer in a competitive market.
I fear every generation looks back and thinks nothing ever changes.
