I write regarding the failure of Bromley Council's second bid to get funding for Beckenham High Street improvements.
The first time might be considered unlucky although it was slammed by the Mayor of London's office as poorly thought through.
The second failure highlights that council officer effort has as usual gone into Bromley town centre.
Beckenham suffers as a result. Once again this highlights the need for a new Beckenham Council to take over the job and work closely with stakeholders to get funding.
A new planning authority is needed for Beckenham as part of this new council.
