GO VEGGIE: How many more scares must there be before we realise killing animals for food is unnecessary and dangerous? Many people live healthily without eating meat, free from the diseases which we are coming to regard as inevitable. The Vegetarian Society has produced a free booklet called Vegetarian Catering For Schools and Colleges. The Jamie Oliver attitude seems to ignore the dangers of eating meat, fowl and fish.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Has anyone looked at the connection between the banning of junk food in Greenwich schools and the dramatic improvement in the exam performance of those schools this year? Perhaps
it's just a coincidence but it would be a neat piece of evidence in support of what Jamie Oliver was saying all along.
