Time to get tough on animal cruelty

This letter is to ask the Government to seek stricter enforcement of anti-cruelty laws for animals and to endorse the funding of additional shelters for homeless animals.

Why can't the National Lottery cough up some of its money to fund animal welfare projects? They fall over themselves to provide thousands of pounds to gay and lesbian rights.

It is about time some of the money paid in by the public of this country went to help prosecution of anyone abusing animals, with prison sentences and heavy fines we are supposed to be a nation of animal lovers but are we really?

Some of the cruelties are beyond belief. IFAW can give you the photographs to prove it but who has the guts to look at them?
