This country doesn't care a jot for the elderly.
The case of Herbert Jarvis only goes to highlight how the elderly are held in contempt (Hungry For Operation, News Shopper, March 28). Hospitals have previously let it be known they will hold back on operations for the elderly to save money. The NHS is not in any way caring towards its patients. This came to light some years ago when doctors and nurses said they would be prepared to go on strike.
Mr Jarvis should be given his operation and a substantial sum of money to compensate him.
