I read with interest your article about the ruined final wish of pensioner Marianne Hrustanovic who could not be buried in a plot that she owned next to her husband because she lived outside the borough when she died (Council Ruins Final Wish, News Shopper, April 4).

The policy of making people who live outside the borough pay extra, is just if they have never lived in Bromley and have no links with the town.

However, if people have lived in Bromley and already own a grave, to make an exorbitant charge to use it is daylight robbery.

My brother highlighted this issue last year with respect to a grave I own, dug for two, and with my mother already in it.

Nobody else can use that grave for the next 60 years so one space is going to be wasted.

It was my wish to be buried there but now I will be taking up a space in another cemetery.

I was born in Bromley, went to school in Bromley, and my eldest son was born in Bromley.

I have family still living in Bromley, so I am not a stranger to the town.

I just want to come home when I die.

My mum, brother, half brother, nan, husband and in-laws are all buried in the same cemetery.

I would like to join them eventually.

It's not too much to ask, is it?

My condolences and sympathy to Mrs Hrustanovic's family.
