I share Vanessa Allen's concern that a Bromley Council leaflet was delivered alongside one for the Conservative mayoral candidate Boris Johnson (Council's Pro-Boris Leaflet Inappropriate, News Shopper, March 28).
At worst it suggests that council resources were used to promote a candidate and at the very least it implies that the council endorses that candidate.
That is why Liberal Democrat councillors have asked officers at Bromley Council to investigate.
However, I do not share Ms Allen's belief that the council "should deliver Ken [Livingstone]'s leaflets instead".
The council should remain utterly neutral in its approach to the election and should not deliver leaflets for any candidate.
