I was walking home in Hither Green last week enjoying the sun following the long awaited arrival of British Summer Time.
It was about 6.30pm, and a lovely evening with the sun still shining.
Yet to my amazement, despite it being broad daylight, I noticed the light in one of the street lamps in Wellmeadow Road was on.
It makes me wonder how many other street lamps are unnecessarily switched on?
In this day and age of energy and efficiency savings, Lewisham Council ought to move its clocks forward with the rest of us and stop this blatant waste of resources - not least council tax payers' hard earned money.
