I am writing in response to the letter Bus Driver Humiliated Me Over Oyster Card (News Shopper, February 8). My daughter had a similar incident happen to her just before Christmas with an equally unpleasant bus driver.

On this particular evening my 13-year-old daughter was coming home from school but had accidentally left her Oyster card at home.

She explained the situation to the driver and was asked for £2.20 to cover the fare.

She did not have any money on her and was told to get off the bus.

She was then left on her own at the bus stop, in the near dark, in drizzle and with no means of getting home.

I was horrified when she rang, very distressed at the way she had been treated.

My complaint to the bus company was that she was quite obviously under the age at which she had to pay for bus travel.

An adult with an ounce of common sense would have allowed her to travel.
