IT IS just over 10 weeks before Dartford FC comes back to Dartford for the first time in 14 years.

Dartford Council has been amazing with the help it has given the club, and after having a sneak peak at the ground during the Dartford Show it is unbelievable how great it is.

It will undoubtedly be the best non-league ground in the country and every resident of Dartford should be proud.

Although I realise some of the population of Dartford disagree with public money being spent on this venue, we are getting a superb training facility which, along with the judo dojo, can be used for Olympic training during the 2012 Games.

The training pitch is also going to be used by children's teams in the area.

Apart from the 300 fans who have regularly turned up for games, who else shouts the name "Dartford" in a positive light?

I think News Shopper should be promoting the biggest thing to happen to the town for years, with regular features, a countdown to the first game, and snippets about past and present Dartford players - anything which will get the town into a frenzy.

There are 4,100 places at the ground, what a story it would be for News Shopper if there were queues outside as the ground was filled.

Dartford Council has done its part, the Dartford FC and fans have done their part by rescuing the team from oblivion and getting them to the top of their league, now its time for News Shopper to get the rest of Dartford to help.
