REGARDING Policeman Hurt In Hit And Run (News Shopper, August 23).
What is going on in this society of ours?
Once, people who attacked police officers would have been hunted down within hours.
There's just no respect these days for institution of order or individuals.
I am at a loss to say where it all went wrong but something has gone wrong and we now have an underclass of scum.
When I was a lad I didn't even dare speak to our bobby, such was his reputation and respect we all had for him.
They were simpler days when everybody played by the rules and did their bit for society. I know I sound like an old codger, but we could learn from our own recent history.
