YET again I sit on a warm Sunday afternoon with all my windows closed because an inconsiderate neighbour has a bonfire.

I thought it was the same neighbour who feeds her metal incinerator with garden waste and every few days sets it alight, totally ignoring the fact she is ruining people's afternoons in their gardens and their washing on the lines.

It was not the usual lady but her neighbour with a fire torch, burning weeds.

Why do these people like to fill our lungs with acrid smoke when there is a perfectly good council tip half-a-mile from our street?

With the climate so dry, the inconsiderate act of fire bombing his weeds could spread fire to other gardens and homes.
