FOR crying out loud, if I hear anybody else whining about having to pay the council tax Olympic levy, I will scream.

Over the past few months News Shopper has featured opinions from both camps those welcoming the greatest event in the world to our wonderful city and those too miserable to consider the greater good.

OK, there will be some people who have to pay the levy who will not be around to see the Olympics or benefit from the improved transport links and infrastructure put in to cater for the event.

I am sorry for them but you can't base your country's future developments on the basis of how many of the taxpayers will be alive to benefit.

What I cannot understand is these people get hot under the collar about paying £24 a year towards the Olympics but were amazingly quiet when the Government blew £6bn on the war and occupation of Iraq.

Surely London 2012 is the most worthy event to come our way in a very long time, if ever?

I am sorry for those who have not been inspired the same way I have but I genuinely believe the Olympics will bring our great city together like nothing else before.

The Olympics will leave a great legacy of sport and transport infrastructure.

I just wish folk would stop whining about paying for it and get on board.
